SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — The roads in Salem are nearly impassable, making it almost impossible for critical staff members to get to Salem Hospital. So Marion County Search and Rescue crews used their Jeep Patrol to pick up and deliver the staff to the hospital.

A hospital spokesperson said the icy roads means more crashes, which means more people needing emergency care.

Salem Hospital set up an incident command area to help coordinate the calls from staffers who needed help getting to work. About 50 staff members spent the night at the hospital.
