PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Firefighters credit a sprinkler system from keeping a Lake Oswego restaurant fire from causing more damage.
Firefighters responded to the La Provence Restaurant at 16350 Boones Ferry Rd. at 3:15 a.m. to find smoke coming from the roof. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to locate the source of the smoke, which was a wall space near the kitchen. According to the Lake Oswego Fire Department, the sprinkler kept the fire in check until they were able to extinguish it.
Without the sprinkler system, the fire would have caused much more water damage, the fire department said.
The damage was estimated at $25,000. The restaurant will likely be closed for at least a week.
