PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – An 80-year-old woman is expected to survive after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Northwest Portland Thursday morning.

The woman was in a crosswalk at Northwest 19th Avenue at Everett Street when she was hit at about 6:45 a.m. Sgt. Pete Simpson, a Portland police spokesman, said the victim was crossing with a walk signal.

Her injuries were not life threatening, Simpson said.

The driver, who remained at the scene and cooperated with police, was cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian.
