PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Eight alleged Portland area pimps have been arrested on federal charges, including the pimp accused of taking escort Ivanice “Ivy” Harris to Hawaii, where she was found murdered in May 2013.

Thirty-six-year-old Mark “Meezilini” Miles Jr. was booked into the Multnomah County Jail Friday on two counts each of violating both the Mann Act and the Travel Act.

Marine Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby has been charged with murdering Harris and is currently awaiting trial.

The eight men are accused of transporting women to Hawaii, Nevada and Alaska. The U.S. District Attorney’s Office unsealed their indictments Monday.

“Local traffickers are sending young Portland-area women all over the country to have sex with strangers for money,” said U.S. Attorney Amanda Marshall in a statement. “These young women, far from home, are being placed in grave danger, so that their pimp can buy himself a Mercedes, or a Cadillac, or an expensive pair of jeans.”

The 28-year-old Harris was last seen May 16 outside a bar in Waikiki. Her body was found May 20 in some bushes in a remote area near the Oahu Leeward Coast. She was reportedly in Hawaii to celebrate her 29th birthday with a group of friends.

Thirty-nine-year-old Cosby was arrested June 6 on second-degree murder. Cosby, an explosive ordnance disposal technician, was on temporary assignment on the island. Honolulu detectives testified at a military hearing in September that surveillance video captured the two meeting outside the Waikiki bar and going up an elevator to Cosby’s hotel room. A forensic pathologist also testified that Harris was strangled to death.

Cosby is facing a general court-martial in the death of Harris. His trial is scheduled to start March 17 at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Meanwhile, the other 7 seven Portland men listed in the indictments were 40-year-old Steven “Flawless” Huffman, Jr., 32-year-old Jorge “Baby Slim” Ortega Jr.,  38-year-old Jermaine “Chocolate” Hankins, 28-year-old Michael “Mackin Mike” Willis, Jr., 23-year-old DeShawne “The Don” Howard, 32-year-old Samuel “Sammega” Howard Jr., and 33-year-old Camillio “Killa” Carradine.
