SWAT raids home near Tigard school

TIGARD, Ore. (KOIN) — Washington County SWAT teams raided a residence near a Tigard elementary school early Friday morning.

Sgt. Bob Ray, a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office, confirmed the SWAT raid occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the area of Southwest Grant Avenue and Walnut Street.

Deputies said the operation happened near Charles F. Tigard Elementary School. There was no risk to anyone in the neighborhood, officials said.

Ray would not release any additional information on the case, citing the ongoing investigation. It remains unclear if anyone was detained for questioning.
