DALLAS, Ore. (KOIN) — A collision between a loaded logging truck and an SUV left one person dead on Highway 223 early Thursday afternoon.
The victim was identified Friday as 64-year-old Stanley Paul Dankenbring of Dallas, Ore.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP), at around 1:15 p.m., Dankenbring was traveling south on Highway 223, about three miles south of Dallas, when his 2000 Ford Explorer crossed the center line and collided head-on with a logging truck that was in the northbound lane.
The truck driver and his passenger, both from Klamath Falls, were unhurt.
OSP is still looking into the cause of the crash.
