SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — Tens of thousands of dollars turned up missing at the Oregon State Correctional Institution in Salem.
That’s according to an audit released to KOIN 6 News Wednesday night.
The audit found that from October 2002 to February 2011 someone was taking the quarters from storage lockers at the facility.
The Oregon Department of Corrections reports the prison is missing around $26,000 as a result.
There’s no word yet as to where that money went — or who took it.
The corrections facility reports it has since limited availability to those locker keys.
