WOODBURN, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are now investigating two reports of a masked man robbing Woodburn establishments.
Around 9:40 p.m. Friday, a man in a mask walked into the Guacamole Market on N. Pacific Highway. He wore a bandana around his face and was armed with a handgun, witnesses said.
Police said the masked man did not say a word. He just walked up to the cash register, took the money and left.
“When I go to open the door,” said one Guacamole Market worker who was working at the back of the store at the time, “the lady says ‘no, no, no, no.'”
The worker said she stayed where she was.
A robbery very similar to this one happened a week ago Friday at a taqueria down the road from the Guacamole Market.
Surveillance cameras at the Taqueria Los Laurales, at 611 N. Pacific Highway, captured a bandana-wearing man who walked to the cash register with a handgun Friday, Aug. 30. Employees said he was very quiet, but did say “Hi” to the cashier.
The thief stole about $2,000 within a matter of minutes.
Woodburn police said they don’t yet know if these two robberies are related.
