PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Police are attempting to solve more than 300 car vandalism cases that have occurred in several eastside Portland neighborhoods over the past four months.

The Portland Police Bureau reports that since May, vandals have been puncturing tires on dozens of SUVs, trucks and vans parked on streets in Alameda, Irvington, Rose City and Grand Park neighborhoods in Northeast Portland. Recently, the vandalism has spread into the Laurelhurst, Richmond, Sunnyside and Kerns neighborhoods of Southeast Portland. Police have created a map showing the breakdown of which areas are getting hit the most.

An estimated 20 to 25 vandalism reports are filed each week, according to Portland police.  The vandalism appears to be occurring mostly overnight.
