Motorcyclist hit by lightning on I-5

CHEHALIS, Wash. (KOIN) — A 60-year-old motorcyclist was struck by lightning along northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 76 Thursday morning.

Witnesses told police the bolt hit the rider and he “lit up.” He continued down the freeway and got off at exit 72, where paramedics arrived and took him to Centralia Providence Hospital.

He suffered some hearing loss, singed hair and had a few burns. He was treated and released from the hospital.
