(KOIN) – A convicted bank robber previously nicknamed the “Where’s Waldo” bandit has been arrested in connection with another bank robbery this week in downtown Portland.
Thirty-two-year-old Ryan Michael Homsley was arrested in Aloha Tuesday night by Washington County Sheriff’s deputies. Homsley is a suspect in a robbery Monday afternoon at a U.S. Bank branch on Southwest Harrison Street.
Prior to the latest robbery, Homsley had been wanted on a warrant for a federal probation violation, Portland police reported.
According to The Oregonian newspaper, in March 2012, Homsley plead guilty to federal charges for robbing a Key Bank in Tualatin in September of 2010. He received the Waldo nickname due to the glasses and striped sweater he wore during the robbery. He was sentenced to 40 months in federal prison, with credit for time served, and was released about one week prior to the latest robbery, The Oregonian reported.
The sheriff’s office said that following his arrest Tuesday Homsley was hospitalized for an undisclosed reason, and then released to the custody of U.S. Marshals.
