Missing Vancouver driver found alive

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The authorities say a Vancouver, Wash., man who was reported missing in Oregon last week has been found in his hometown.

The sheriff’s office in Lane County, Ore., had sought the public’s help after 74-year-old Danny Lay did not arrive home as expected on a drive from Mexico. He had last been seen Aug. 17 in the small town of Lowell, near Eugene.

The sheriff’s office told The Register-Guard newspaper that Lay was back in Vancouver on Monday.
