(KOIN) – A 45-year-old Gresham man died when he fell out of the passenger side of a pickup truck near Newberg Tuesday night.
Oregon State Police (OSP) reports that Ronald Loren Toby was the lone passenger in a Toyota Tundra that was traveling west on Highway 240. According to the driver, 42-year-old Phillip Lockwood of Newberg, the passenger door suddenly opened and Toby fell out.
Toby was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers determined that alcohol may have contributed to the fall. He was also not wearing a seatbelt.
OSP is continuing to investigate.
