Train hits pedestrian in SE Portland

(KOIN) – A person was hit by a train in Southeast Portland Monday morning.

The collision occurred at about 8 a.m. on the Union Pacific Railroad at Southeast Gideon and Brooklyn streets, according to dispatchers with the Bureau of Emergency Communications.

The victim was transported a nearby hospital. Lt. Mike Marshman, a Portland Fire & Rescue spokesperson, said the injuries were not life threatening.
