(KOIN) – A Southeast Portland man was killed in a three-vehicle crash over the weekend south of Canby.
The victim was identified Monday as 21-year-old Layne Jason Iffert.
The collision occurred at about 8 p.m. Saturday on Highway 99E. According to Oregon State Police (OSP), Iffert was driving north on the highway when his 2002 Subaru Legacy crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with two southbound vehicles. The car then flipped into a ditch.
Iffert was transported by Life Flight to Oregon Health & Science University. He was pronounced dead on Sunday morning.
The other two drivers were not seriously hurt.
OSP did not confirm if intoxicants or speed were factors in the incident. The cause remains under investigation.
