PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man with a revoked license held by police after being involved in fatal car wreck on I-5 Friday will likely face a felony charge when he appears in court Tuesday morning.
Ronald Witt will be charged with Aggravated Driving while Suspended or Revoked, a felony, plus one count of driving with a suspended license.
KOIN 6 News learned he is not facing negligent homicide charges because there is no evidence of reckless behavior, and Witt passed all the field sobriety tests. Authorities are awaiting toxicology results.
The three-vehicle crash shut down southbound I-5 in Portland for hours on Friday night.
Thomas Swift died of blunt force trauma to the chest, the medical examiner determined. His family told KOIN 6 News Swift was a courier and was on his last run of the day when he was hit.
His funeral is planned for Thursday.
