PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A box truck caught a guy wire holding up a power pole in front of the Bridgeport Brewery, toppling the pole onto a tanker truck and causing the transformer to crush a parked car.
The accident on NW 14th between Marshal and Northrup happened late Tuesday morning, officials said.
The yeast-hauling tanker truck needed a place to park, and the driver of the box truck moved his vehicle. But as he did he caught the wire and caused the crash.
In all four vehicles were damaged — a tanker truck, a chemical truck and two cars.
More than 230 customers lost their electricity, PGE officials said. Power is expected to be restored by Tuesday evening.
The area along 14th between NW Lovejoy and NW Northrup is closed at this time.
No one was hurt.
