PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — They are the best “Senior Little League” teams in Oregon and Washington, but they still need help making it down to regionals in southern California.

The Clackamas team of 15- and 16-year-olds just returned from winning the Oregon state tournament for the first time. Now they need to raise about $12,000 to pay for travel and lodging at next week’s Western Regionals.

On Saturday, the day before they drive to California, they’re having a fundraiser car wash at Prudential NW Properties in Sandy, Ore. Also on Saturday, Godfather’s Pizza at 14682 SE Sunnyside Road in Clackamas, Ore., will donate 30% of all proceeds to help get them on the road to regionals. Anyone can pitch in, anytime, at ClackamasLittleLeague.org.

Meanwhile, the Washington state champs — Vancouver’s Columbia Little League — also is raising funds to make the same trip. They’re raised enough to get the players there, but need a little more. The Columbia Little League team has set up an account for donations at Columbia Bank.
