PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard is looking to show off his skills on an even bigger stage.

Lillard stayed in Las Vegas when the Portland Blazers’ summer league ended.

The Trail Blazer guard is now competing against 27 other players for a spot on the national basketball team. The try outs are on the campus of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

If selected, the 23-year-old Blazer would represent the U.S.A. at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
