PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A picture posted on Reddit led to a Los Angeles hospital inundated with pizza over the weekend, and it got a little girl who is battling cancer exactly what she wanted.
The photo showed a message Hazel Hammersley and her family posted on the girl’s hospital room window. It read “Send pizza — rm 4112.”
The sign was up for several days. But nothing happened until someone posted the photo on the social news site Reddit.com.
The hospital even posted the following note on its website on behalf of Hazel’s mother: “You’ve made a little girl very happy but NO MORE PIZZA IS NEEDED.”
Hazel’s family said they hope the outpouring of support will raise awareness about childhood cancers.
