ALOHA, Ore. (KOIN) — In December 2012, a woman was jogging with her headphones on when she was tackled and dragged into the bushes. In her fight with the man, she put her gloved hand inside his mouth.

That glove captured his DNA, and earlier this week Thomas Davis was arrested.

The woman, Michelle, said she had to fight when the attack happened in the area of SW Farmington and SW 209th.

He came behind me and tackled me like a football player, threw me in the bushes,” she told KOIN 6 News in a telephone interview. “I thought he was going to kill me or murder [me]. And I thought I have to fight this man.”

She blacked out for a few seconds, she said, but managed to break free and called for help. Investigators took the glove for analysis and matched the DNA to Davis.

The match came June 10, but investigators also linked Davis to another investigation by Beaverton police.

“We found that he was the suspect in some other cases where he’d been putting dirty violent sexually explicit notes on women’s windshields in public parking lots” in Sherwood and Wilsonville, said Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators don’t think this is an isolated incident and hope other victims come forward.

So does Michelle.

“I would say please do not be paralyzed by fear. Please come forward. You could be a whole lot of help to other women.”
