Late Monday night, a Kia Soul pulled up next to a delivery truck at Beds 4 Less, opened the truck’s gas tank and began siphoning.

He then climbed into the front of the truck and stole a bag of tools. The thief spent nearly 30 minutes siphoning the tank before he was scared by an employee who checked on the truck because of a previous radiator problem.

He hid until the employee left.

“It hurts because we are a local family business,” said Luis Moreno of Beds 4 Less.

No one is in custody.

“He’s pretty smart,” said Angel Castro. “He wasn’t scared and didn’t run away and had knowledge of getting away.”

The truck will now be parked in a garage, store officials said.
