PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Miami man wanted in Beaverton for assaulting a police officer was arrested in West Michigan in two credit card fraud cases.

A Kentwood, Michigan police officer investigating the cases sent out a statewide alert about a possible suspect, Rafelo Antonio Bonne, and his vehicle, KOIN 6 News sister station WOOD TV8 reports.

A Michigan State Police trooper noticed the car and pulled it over.

The trooper arrested the 28-year-old Miami man and recovered a “significant” amount of property that police said was obtained through Bonne’s fraudulent activity.

Police said that Bonne was in a rental car and believed he was on his way to Chicago so that he could fly back to Miami.

Bonne was charged in Kent County, Michigan with two counts of stealing or retaining a financial transaction device without consent and two counts of possession of a financial transaction device without consent.

Bond was set at $1 million for each charge.

Metro Fraud and Identity Theft Team investigators have also been in touch with investigators in Beaverton, Ore. who have been searching for Bonne in a police officer assault case and a fraud case of more than $100,000.
