Man, woman die from Highway 219 crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN) — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 219 and Southwest Burkhalter Road near Hillsboro left two people dead Sunday afternoon.

One male died at the scene, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office release.

Two more people were taken from the scene by ambulances.

One of them — a woman — died while being treated. Both people who died were traveling in the same car, which collided with a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck is expected to live.

The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team responded to the scene. Investigators have not said what led up to the crash, but they did say no charges have been filed.

Highway 219 had only one lane open until sometime before 7:50 p.m. Sunday night. Traffic was being flagged through during that time.
