PORTLAND, Ore,. (KOIN) — Family and friends of a young mother who died in a car crash celebrated her life on Saturday in a fundraiser for the three children she left behind.
Billie Pugh died April 28 when an alleged drunk driver broadsided the car she was in with her husband, Brandon. He suffered serious injuries in the crash.
She was 28.
The benefit was host at the Burgerville on 122nd and Stark, the same intersection where the crash happened. Donations to the family were supplemented by Burgerville’s donation of 20% of all lunchtime sales at that spot.
“It’s amazing how many are donating,” said Kara Pugh, Billie’s sister-in-law. “Shows me I’m in a community that still cares.”
