LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (KOIN) — A Seattle man attempting to dribble a soccer ball to Brazil was hit and killed along a Lincoln City highway Tuesday morning.

Richard Swanson was walking along the shoulder of the road around 10 a.m. when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck.

Less than an hour before, he posted a video on YouTube of him on a beach in Lincoln City.  Swanson, 42, wanted to reach Brazil to attend the 2014 World Cup.

He died at the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck is cooperating with police and has not been charged at this time.
