Bomb squad examines suspicious case in Keizer

(KOIN) – A suspicious black case that shut down an area in Keizer Monday morning has been found to be safe.

The Keizer Police Department reports that at about 5:30 a.m., the hardened black case was discovered by an employee, propped against a door in the Elliott Square office complex on the 3600 block of River Road North.

River Road was blocked off between Sam Orcutt Way NE and Glynbrook Street, and the Salem Police Department Bomb Squad was called to the scene. After examining the object, it determined that the case did not contain any dangerous material. Keizer police did not confirm what was found inside the case.

River Road was reopened by 8:35 a.m. Keizer police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information on who may have left it should contact Sgt. David LeDay at 503-390-3713 ext. 3482.
