PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A tour bus hit five other cars after a slowdown on I-405, sending two people to the hospital for treatment and snarling rush hour traffic on Friday afternoon in downtown Portland.
The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. near SW Salmon.
A young man riding on the bus, Devon Lux, told KOIN 6 News the bus was traveling about 65 mph when “all of a sudden, the traffic stopped.” He said everyone on the bus yelled to the driver to stop, “but the driver was not paying attention.”
He said there was shattered glass everywhere. He was not hurt.
The two people taken to the hospital for treatment included the bus driver. Neither has life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the bus, owned by MTR, may face charges.
Traffic was flowing freely by 5:30 p.m.
