Man detained in fatal Vancouver shooting

(KOIN) – A man is being questioned in connection with the fatal shooting of another man in a Vancouver home Thursday evening.

Vancouver police officers responded to the 2700 block of Fruit Valley Road just before 5:30 p.m. on a report of a disturbance involving weapons. They arrived to find the victim, Thomas Miller,  dead at the scene.

Miller was 45.

The detained man is a resident of the home where the shooting occurred, Vancouver police said. Investigators believe he fired the weapon. The two appeared to know each other.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately confirmed.

Fruit Valley Road was closed between West Fourth Plain Boulevard and 28th Street during the investigation.
