(KOIN) – A man who allegedly fired his gun during a dispute with another man in Southeast Portland was taken into custody Thursday.
Fifty-three-year-old George Fauvergue faces one count each of unlawful use of a weapon, discharging a firearm in the city and menacing.
According to Portland police, sometime after 4 p.m. Thursday, Fauvergue and an unidentified man got in a fight outside a home in the 6800 block of Southeast 85th Avenue, during which, Fauvergue fired his gun once at the ground.
No one was hurt. Portland police officers responded and took Fauvergue into custody. His handgun was also seized from his vehicle.
The circumstances that lead to the dispute were not confirmed. Fauvergue and the other man knew each other prior to the incident, Portland police said. At some point during the disturbance, Fauvergue himself called 911.
He was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail.
