Sharing Spree declares bankruptcy

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The local owners of the online deals website Sharing Spree have filed for bankruptcy. And they’re doing it in Florida.

The new court filing from Florida reveals Ronald and Megan Sapp of West Linn are more than $2.5 million in debt — money owed to thousands of people across the country. Debtors include at least a dozen people in Oregon.

Sharing Spree splits the sale of online deals with the local businesses that take part. It also is supposed to give a portion of its proceeds to charity.
