A fourth person is in custody, accused of taking part in the kidnapping of a 20-year-old woman near Sweet Home.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office reports that 25-year-old Michell Dawn Slay turned herself in to deputies Wednesday evening. She faces one count each of first-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault.
On Tuesday, 33-year-old Karissa Lynett Williams and 30-year-old Joseph Raphael Gutierrez, both of Sweet Home, were arrested in the case. On Monday, 54-year-old Daniel Fred Schroeder was apprehended at a residence in Lebanon.
The victim told deputies that, on Friday, April 19, she went to Schroeder’s home. At some point over that weekend, she was held against her will and assaulted. She said she was able to escape while he was sleeping, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities did not disclose what role Williams, Gutierrez or Slay may have had in the kidnapping. All four are lodged in the Linn County Jail.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
