Victim ID’d in fatal Marion Co. crash

An Aurora man was killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Donald, Ore., Monday night.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Todd Bradley Arendt. He was a passenger in a 1989 Buick LeSabre that was involved in the collision.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, sometime before 9 p.m. the LaSabre was turning onto Case Road NE from Yergen Road when it was struck by a 1994 Ford F-150 that was traveling east on Yergen.

The driver of the Buick, 43-year-old Georgina Harrison of Aurora, was airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with unknown injuries. Her passenger, Arendt, was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

The three occupants of the pickup were taken by ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University. The condition of the driver, 49-year-old Daniel McAfee of Portland, is unknown. The two passengers, 43-year-old Catherine McAfee and 12-year-old Holly McAfee, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was shut down until 2 a.m. Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office did not disclose if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. At this time, no arrests have been made, and no citations have been issued.
