BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A Beaverton police officer has been arrested in a case that charges him of food-stamp fraud.

Washington County sheriff’s deputies said Christopher Warren was issued a “secret” indictment in the case. He then turned himself in.

Warren now faces two counts of Unlawfully Obtaining Public Assistance, one count of Unlawfully Obtaining Food Stamps, first-degree Theft and three counts of Unsworn Falsification.  Unsworn Falsification is when a person “knowingly makes any false written statement to a public servant in connection with an application for any benefit,” according to Oregon state statutes.

Warren is set to appear in court Tuesday.
