PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The third of three suspects wanted in a semi-automatic-handgun robbery of a Muchas Gracias restaurant in St. Helens was captured Thursday night, police said.
The robbery was April 13. After arresting two other 18-year-olds, police released the final 18-year-old’s identity to media Thursday morning.
Around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Portland Police Bureau reports, officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of a man firing gunshots into the air at North Lombard Street and Ida Avenue.
It was their suspect: 18-year-old Daniel Thomas Rehrig of St. Helens, Ore., according to police.
According to a news release, “The suspect fired his gun until it was empty, then dropped the gun on the ground. Officers arrived and located the suspect in the parking lot of the 76 gas station — and took him into custody without incident.”
The St. Helens Police Department was contacted, and Rehrig has been transferred into Columbia County’s custody.
The teen now faces charges in Portland of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in the City, Reckless Endangerment and Disorderly Conduct.
He’s expected to face charges in Columbia County in connection with the robbery.
