‘Possible standoff’ at Beaverton apartments canceled

Beaverton standoff

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — SWAT team members gathered outside the Woodlawn Apartments in Beaverton late Wednesday afternoon.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was calling this a “possible standoff.” However, as of just before 8 p.m. Wednesday sheriff’s spokesperson Bob Ray said police had left the scene.

The apartment complex is at 4420 SW 99th Ave. in Beaverton, Ore. Sources originally said there was a man with a gun inside.

The 4400 block of SW 99th Avenue was closed Wednesday evening for this law-enforcement action.

In the end, the sheriff’s spokesperson said, law enforcement decided the man inside the apartment wasn’t committing a crime and wasn’t a danger to anyone. And so they left.
