Deputies are searching for two armed men who robbed a Texaco gas station while wearing ski masks just after midnight Sunday.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office reports that the robbery occurred at a station located on the corner of Southeast 82nd Avenue and Harmony Road in Milwaukie.
The clerk told deputies that the men, one carrying a handgun and the other a claw hammer, entered the convenience store and demanded he open a safe. One of the suspects swung his hammer at the clerk, but missed.
After the clerk was unable to open the safe, they had him open the cash drawer, and then ordered him to lie down on the floor, the sheriff’s office said. They stole cash from the till, as well as the victim’s wallet, and then fled. The clerk was not hurt.
A K-9 search of the area was unsuccessful.
The suspects were described as between 160 and 170 pounds, between 5 and 6 feet tall, and were wearing dark clothing and gloves along with their ski masks. No surveillance photos were released.
