A man wearing a mask from the “Scream” movies who robbed a Muchas Gracias restaurant in Longview, Wash., at gunpoint last month may have been responsible for an armed robbery at a Vancouver coffee shop that same day.
The Longview Police Department reports that robbery occurred at about 6 a.m. on March 31 at the Muchas Gracias located at 1006 Washington Way. The suspect was carrying a semi-automatic handgun and wearing a “Scream” mask and green latex gloves. Following the robbery he fled. There were no injuries.
At about 8 a.m. that same morning, Vancouver police responded to a robbery at Torque Coffee, located at 507 Columbia Street. An employee told officers that while opening the shop, they were approached by a man in a mask carrying a handgun. The suspect stole property from the employee and the shop, before forcing the victim into a refrigeration unit inside the business before fleeing. The employee was not hurt.
In the Muchas Gracias robbery, the suspect was described as being in his 30s or 40s, 6-foot-1, medium to light build with a mustache, possibly a goatee and may have had glasses. He was wearing a dark-colored Nike sweatshirt and carrying a dark-colored shoulder bag.
In the coffee shop robbery, the suspect was described as white, 6-foot-1, with an average build. He was wearing a black-hooded jacket and blue jeans. He may have had facial hair and glasses.
Anyone with information on the incidents should contact Longview or Vancouver police.
