PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A 28-year-old man was arrested Friday and charged with rape and kidnapping from an incident March 20 in southeast Portland.
Adam DeCamp Duus allegedy pushed his way into a home in the SE 174th and Division area and raped the woman inside. He allegedly had a knife with him and authorities believe he may have been stalking the woman ahead of the attack.The woman, who was injured in the incident, said she did not know her attacker.
Authorities said the man may be either living in the neighborhood or a regular visitor.
Police released the information nine days after the attack, prompting questions from neighborhood residents. Officials said there are many reasons why information sometimes is slow to be released, and each case is different.
Duus will be arraigned Monday. He’s charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, coercion, unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree sex abuse.
