VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — An alcohol superstore — 11,000 square feet of beer, wine and spirits — opened up in Vancouver Friday.
The store, BevMo, began in California and expanded into Arizona and Washington. Store spokesperson Dave Irvin told KOIN 6 News the staff is very diligent about not selling to minors.
“If a couple minors come in to the store, someone’s always up front and the cashiers know to card somebody and they’re turned away,” he said.
One shopper said she doesn’t think the store will cause people to drink more. “I just think it’s fun to look around,” she said.
BevMo officials said they keep the high end items locked up and lower shelves in the liquor department allow them to keep a better eye on things.
