Police investigate stabbing near skate-park

PORTLAND, Ore. -– A man was stabbed early Thursday morning, police confirmed.

A police spokesman said the stabbing was reported shortly after 3 a.m. at the Burnside Skate Park, located near Northeast 2nd Avenue and Everett Street.

Officers responded and found an unidentified adult man suffering from at least one stab wound.

A witness who spoke to KOIN, but declined to give his name, said that the stabbing was between a group of men over a bicycle.

Officers said that the area is known as a homeless camp late at night.

It’s not clear if the two suspects involved with the stabbing are homeless, but an officer said the victim was sleeping on the street.

Detectives will be notified of the incident and will likely conduct a follow up investigation, police said.

There are no suspect descriptions available, police said.
