An 18-year-old woman is accused of assaulting two staff members at a Salem group home Wednesday afternoon, before later attacking a nurse at Salem Hospital.
Alice Jean Finch faces counts of fourth-degree assault, harassment and criminal mischief. During her arrest, deputies also discovered that she was wanted on a no-bail juvenile warrant for harassment.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 3:45 p.m., Finch was involved in an altercation at the Partnership in Community Living home, located at 4241 Munkers St. SE, in which she assaulted two employees and then fled the facility.
Less than one hour later, Finch was spotted by deputies on Lancaster Drive SE with a large plastic tie wrapped around her neck, rubber bands around her wrists, and she appeared to be struggling to breathe. She resisted when deputies attempted to remove the ties, and refused to speak to them.
She was transported to Salem Hospital for a mental and physical evaluation, during which she allegedly assaulted a nurse.
Following her release from the hospital, she was booked into the Marion County Jail. Her arraignment was scheduled for Thursday.
